It’s Lion release day, so we take the opportunity to talk a little about Lion NDA free. It’s kinda nice not having to worry about whether or not we’re going to get a cease and desist letter in the mail.

- No more welcome message from OS X on an upgrade-install
- Josh is still having some Lion headaches (probably app related)

- Gestures around OS X and Safari
- OS X Notifications popup in Lion, but seem to be only half-mentioned by Apple
- In-App purchases now available for Mac App Store apps
- USB Lion devices coming in August (69.99)
- CNN streaming news to the iPad 24/7, but not outside of the US. If you are outside of the US, and want streaming news, check out the France 24 app.
On this episode we discuss Google+ and Facebook and the app Ecosystems that surround them. Josh also breaks NDA’s to talk about gesture features in Lion.
In this episode Josh uses the word ‘Plus’ as a pun far too often. I apologise on his behalf.

This is our first attempt at an app-centric podcast. While we’re still working out the kinks, we think we’ve hit our first stride pretty well. In this episode we talk specifically about our favorite apps of the moment, but in the future we’ll be focusing on both app news, and apps in particular. We’re also fortunate enough to have some excellent upcoming developer guests, they’ll be making appearances in the upcoming weeks.
Also, this episode is iOS heavy, but we plan on focusing on all major mobile operating systems (minus RIM, huzzah) as well as desktop and web applications. It’s going to be all apps, all the time.
But I’m not going to lie, both Myke and Josh are hard core Apple fans, so there’s going to be a lot of iOS focus, especially as we’re getting settled.
